Michael K. Schroyer, RN, MSN, MBA, FACHE, AACC, has been appointed to serve on the HHS/CMS Advisory Panel on Hospital Outpatient Payment (HOP Panel) for a four-year term which began on January 14, 2015. The appointment was published in the Federal Register. The purpose of the Panel is to advise HHS and CMS on the clinical integrity of the Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) groups and weights, and the supervision of hospital outpatient services. CMS considers the Panel’s advice when preparing the proposed and final Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System rules each year.

Michael currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana. He is an active member of the ACC, and currently serves as the CV Team Committee’s Immediate Past Chair for the Indiana Chapter. Michael will join the Cardiovascular Team Section Leadership Council as a member, beginning in April 2015.
