August 17 (before midnight): Abstracts Due & Meeting Registration Required

September 3: Acceptance Notification

September 26:  Posters on display. The winners of the poster competition will be announced at the end of the meeting.

Eligibility

All current Indiana fellows in a cardiology training program are invited to participate.
Eligible submission: Clinical Research or a Case Report.
Only ONE abstract may be submitted per person.

All current Indiana-ACC CV Team Members (Advanced Practice Nurses, PAs, Clinical Pharmacists, Registered Nurses, CV Technologists, Cardiac Rehabilitation Professionals, and Genetic Counselors) are invited to participate.
Eligible submission: Clinical Research or a Case Report.
Only ONE abstract may be submitted per person.

All current Indiana medical residents in a training program are invited to participate.
Eligible submission: Case Report only.
* Residents may NOT submit/present research (nor on behalf of a secondary author).
* Residents must identify themselves as residents and not fellows.
Only ONE abstract may be submitted per person.

NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE:
*MEDICAL STUDENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION.
*PHYSICIANS WHO HAVE COMPLETED TRAINING ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION

You may present recent data or information that has been presented previously at a local or national meeting. Encore submissions are permitted.

Submission

  • Submission requirements include:
    1)  abstract,
    2)  pdf of your poster, AND
  • Submissions accepted for presentation will be required to be present at the Annual Meeting of the Indiana-ACC. Prepare your poster to fit on a 40 inches x 30 inches board. Dimensions of your poster should be 38 inches across and 28 inches tall. Bring pushpins and/or heavy-duty clear packing tape to affix your poster to the board.
  • Submissions accepted for presentation at the Indiana-ACC Annual Meeting will also be available On Demand through the ePoster Portal.

 

SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT

  1. Abstract Title: The title should be brief (limited to 15 words) and should be succinct and descriptive.
  2. Abstract Body: Maximum of 500 words. Maximum one image (e.g. EKG or graph or table, etc.).
    JPEG format only, maximum file size 500 kb, maximum pixel size 600 x 800. Your one image does not count toward word count. For higher quality output we recommend your images be set at 300 dpi and crop out any unnecessary surrounding white space.
  3. Abstract Layout:
    Clinical research abstracts must use the following layout:
    *Background
    *Objective
    *Methods
    *Results (if relevant)
    *Conclusion
    Case report abstracts must use the following layout:
    *Introduction/Objective
    *Case Presentation
    *Discussion
    *Conclusion
    Here is a good reference for putting together a case report.
  4. Upload a pdf of your poster.
  5. Abstract categories:
    *ACHD/Peds
    *EP
    *General/Preventive
    *Heart Failure/Cardiomyopathy/Transplant
    *Imaging
    *Interventional
    *Other

Reminders:

  1. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the submitting author to participate in the Annual Meeting on September 26 if his/her poster is accepted.
  2. The deadline for submission is August 17.

 

Judging & Prizes

  • Acceptance notification will be announced on September 3.
  • Accepted submissions will present their posters in person on Saturday, September 26, at the Indiana-ACC Annual Meeting. Prepare your poster.
